SUGARBOY

THE STORY

There's no one my age or my weight who can live with me.

ROYSTON BARNEY-SMITH

SUBSTANCE OVER NOISE

Royston “Sugar Boy Roy” Barney-Smith is not simply building a boxing career. He is building a brand, an audience and a long-term commercial platform around one of British boxing’s most exciting young talents.

Before entering the professional ranks, Roy established an elite amateur pedigree. Across 50 amateur contests he recorded 45 victories, represented England on 37 occasions and won 36 of those appearances. His international career included four major championships, European gold medals in both 2017 and 2018, bronze in 2019 and two National Championship titles.

foundations for something much bigger.

That success created the foundations for something much bigger.

Originally expected to pursue the 2024 Olympic pathway, Roy made the strategic decision to move into professional boxing and begin building a career capable of delivering both sporting success and long-term commercial value.

Under the guidance of Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren and trainer Wayne Batten, Roy entered the professional ranks with a clear objective: become a world champion and build a career capable of reaching major domestic and international audiences.

His style gives him a genuine point of difference.

A right-handed southpaw, Roy combines movement, timing, speed and accuracy with genuine power. He describes his boxing as almost poetic, gliding across the ring, creating angles and producing shots opponents do not see coming.

That distinctive style, combined with his personality, confidence and ambition, makes Sugar Boy Roy highly marketable both inside and outside the ring.

unique talent

For commercial partners, the opportunity extends beyond traditional fight-night sponsorship.

Sugar Boy Roy represents a growing sports and lifestyle platform built around performance, ambition, discipline, entertainment and the pursuit of becoming world champion.

As his career develops, so too does the opportunity for brands to become part of the journey through digital content, social media, fight-week activation, live events, branded storytelling, merchandise, hospitality, corporate partnerships and long-term ambassador relationships.

The objective is to create something supporters and commercial partners can participate in, not simply watch.

Roy’s journey begins with strong foundations: an outstanding amateur record, a leading promoter, an established professional training environment and a highly ambitious long-term vision.

Frank Warren has previously described Roy as a “unique talent” with the ingredients required to become the complete professional fighter.

That belief is matched by Roy himself.

“My dream is to be the youngest world champion.”

That ambition sits at the heart of the Sugar Boy Roy brand.

Every fight, every partnership and every piece of content contributes towards building the audience required for the biggest stages in boxing.

DAVISON

TRAINED BY BEN DAVISON

Ben Davison is one of the most recognized corners in the sport, with a track record across world-level fighters. His presence in Roy's corner isn't decoration. It's a signal read clearly by anyone who follows the sport closely: this is a fighter being built the right way, under a trainer who does not attach his name lightly.
